I am not going to offer my own opinion on this, but I'm curious what you think about all that, seeing as you did some writing for the DLC. The White Legs initially colored themselves white to blend into the Great Salt Lake where they are from and they dread their hair out of reverence for Ulysses. The Sorrows use the river pattern to reflect their suffering and their connection to the Virgin River in Zion. Honest Hearts had a lot of fair criticism for its relatively small scope, but I'm glad that most people either didn't care about the religious content or enjoyed it. I don't think religion needs to be an element of every story or setting, but I'm glad to know that it can be. It's easy to miss this since most players aren't especially observant about the date in Fallout New Vegas. The dogs in Zion Canyon are mostly wild and do not have any master to speak of. This is an especially rare occurrence because most dogs in the Fallout universe will attack anybody or anything that comes near them.
Most of the dogs in Zion Canyon are not a threat to the player, and as such, they should be left alone to live a peaceful life in Zion Canyon, especially if the player is role-playing a moral character build.
It's easy to miss these dogs because they aren't a very common occurrence. In real life, Zion Canyon is a National Park that tourists are able to visit.
A lot of players don't realize that this location in the Fallout world is based around a location that has existed for a long time in the real world.
Zion Canyon is just as beautiful in real life as it is in Fallout New Vegas, and fans can expect a similar terrain if they research about the canyon in the real world. Kinda a bummer that you get the option to create some pretty decent early-game armor, but then can't get the items you need to craft it till later unless you do HH early, I guess. I've been putting a lot of skill points into Survival, amd actively looking for the hides, till I read the wiki and realized Green Gecko is only in Zion.
By the time I get to HH, I'll probably have better equipment anyway, so crafting the gecko-backed stuff will be pointless. It's a very low level kind of exploration romp through the wilderness, not so much about shooting badguys, or having super high skills. About how many level-ups will I gain if I'm at 18 now?
Not a lot. Leather armor I think is 8, reinforced leather is 10 and the crafted gecko light leather armor is 15 I believe, so if your only using light armor you'll still be fine. You'll get other light armor in Honest hearts Jacobs outfit maybe that also is 15, but it doesn't have the extra benefits the crafted Gecko armor has.
I use the Gecko armor on my light armor builds all the way through the game.
